Biography:
In the year 2000, French song-writer Frédéric SLAMA released
the album “L.A Concession” under the band name of AOR. Even
though Frédéric has spent more than 10 years living in Los Angeles,
he nevertheless used to work as a professional journalist in
his home country of France during the late 70s to bring the
AOR/ Westcoast sound from L.A to Europe by huge amounts of interviews,
reviews and radio shows about music from this genre – the music,
that has always been the passion of his life! After a couple
of solo efforts and producing some French and American artists,
the time was finally right to start a “one man band”: AOR which
mainly is a studio project.

Even though Frédéric’s first two albums “L.A Concession“ and
„Next Stop L.A“ got released without any label in the back,
the band soon gained a loyal follow-ship in the specialised
AOR & Westcoast scene and many well-known musicians including
Richard Page, Tony Franklin, Michael Thompson or Carlos Vega
joined him in the studio to take part in his project. Album
No. 3, “L.A Reflections”, was finally picked up by Cool Sound
in Japan and once again released by SLAMA himself in Europe.
The album again featured performances by some of the biggest
names of the scene, this time including Steve Lukather, Mike
Porcaro, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Porcaro & David Paich (all from
TOTO) plus many other well known artists such as Tommy Denander,
Göran Edman, Michael Landau, Vinnie Colaiuta, Michael Ruff,
Bruce Gaitsch & Rick Riso.
Now, Frédéric SLAMA is back with a new album entitled “Dreaming
Of L.A” and a record deal with German based label AOR Heaven
in the back. Produced by Tommy Denander (RADIOACTIVE) and David
Diggs, “Dreaming Of L.A” once again features the great talents
by some of the genre’s leading artists of today. Musicians this
time include Bill Champlin (CHICAGO), Steve Overland (FM), Steve
Lukather (TOTO), Michael Landau, Brandon Fields, Tommy Denander
and – as special highlight – the comeback of two Westcoast legends
that haven’t recorded anything far the last 20 years: David
Roberts & Dane Donohue!
So, put the CD into your player, lay yourself back and start
dreaming of L.A while listening to the sound of this city.
