"Ådahl"

Frank and Simon Ådahl started together in 1968. Their first record, an EP , was released in 1969. They sang gospel songs in different churches and toured all over Europe. They were only 11 and 8 years old then. They released three albums in the seventies as "Frank and Simon" Their elder brother Dan was also with them at the time. 1978 they met two other brothers, Edin, and they formed a successful group called "Edin/Adahl". Edin/Adahl started touring full time in 1981.

They were well known as a christian band in Scandinavia. In 1984 they released the album "Alibi" in the States. The song "Saviour" entered the CCM charts. In 1990 they won the Swedish entry to the Eurovision Song Contest and after that the song "Heaven into my soul" went in as nr.1 on the CCM charts for seven weeks. Edin/Adahl toured Europe with the American band "Petra" in 1992. In December -92 they split the band. Frank and Simon started to work as musicians to other artists. Now, ten years later they are back again as "Ådahl". The single "Don't worry" is released in Scandinavia and the fullenght album is going to be out in February 2003.

In the fall of 2001, the Ådahl brothers began the recordings of the upcoming album "Roots". They decided to record it in Frank Ådahl's own studio. No other musicians were hired, the brothers did everything by themselves. Every instrument and backing vocals... They also wrote all songs together. Frank is the lead singer on the album. They decided at an early stage that the style on the album would be soul/gospel/ r&b music. They got the inspiration from the 60s and 70s soulartists and added some modern sounds to it all. The lyrics have a clear christian message , some are about Frank's and Simon's childhood in church. It's a real positive message!

Frank says: - Our main audience has always been people in different churches. It's natural for us to do an album like this. This has always been a call for us. Simon comments: - The Lord showed us a sign during the recording of the song "Each Time". You see, it's ten years since we've been together in a studio and I had some doubts if anyone would care anymore about our music. Then Frank opened his mailbox and found a mail from Family Praise Center in San Antonio, Texas! They invited us to participate in their Apostolic Alignment Conference in November -02. That mail changed everything! We went there and met wonderful, loving people. It was fantastic! We decided to dedicate "Each Time" to that church. Hopefully we will go back there soon!

The single "Don't worry" is out now and some radio stations have begun to play it. The brothers are hoping that there will be a great interest in the fullenght album, which is going to be released in February 2003. The brothers hope to go on tour in the summer 2003. But first, the album has to be out and hopefully it will do well!
