I will be in West Hollywood Ca. July 25th thru 29th. What are the top non touristy things to do?
Best Bakery/Coffee shops? Best for Breakfast
Best Dining Places, both casual and ones with great atmosphere.
Bars, clubs and entertainment…..I Candy? Abby? or something else.
Santa Monica Pier…..fun or skip it?
What about the Farmers Market and shops at the Grove?
What are some good options for a Sunday as I have till 8pm until I attend an event.
I am from South Florida and I have seen enough Body Works, Macy etc. stores accross all america retailers. Looking for Collectors DJ / Vynal Music type stores….No I don’t mean Virgin Megastore although I will probably stop there.
I have checked Zagat…..Damron….and Where webites.
Best breakfast is the Pantry, downtown LA. Big portions, they never close.
In-N-Out Burger: Multiple locations, best burger in LA, ask anyone.
Pink’s Hot Dogs: 709 N. La Brea, just north of Melrose. You might even see a Celebrity. Maybe.
Tommy’s Chili Burgers: Look for the shack, an LA tradition. The original location is at Beverly & Rampart, a couple miles west of downtown.
Canter’s Deli: 419 N. Fairfax, between Beverly & Melrose. Near CBS, you might spot a celebrity.
Phillippe’s: 1001 N. Alameda. Great roast beef sandwiches. Near Union Station and Olvera Street. Watch the mustard, it’s hot.
The Pantry: Corner of Figueroa and 9th, downtown. Huge portions, they never close, GREAT steak and eggs.
Santa Monica Pier is where a lot of locals go to the beach. It’s easy to get to. I go there for the historical ambiance, not for the rides on the pier. And Venice Beach, a short bike ride south, is a total freak show on the weedkends.
Farmers Market/Grove is a very cool place to check out. A little of the old, a little of the new.
