THE STORY
Have you ever received without giving? It’s a
strange sensation: a deep pleasure, a feeling of wellness
without being 100% satisfied. This is what usually happens
in the sentimental life of a Fan concerning his music idols.
Nowadays living is a continuous rush against time and work
where music turns to be a sort of “do it yourself therapy”,
a moment to let it go, an incredible open door for our
fantasy escapes, and it’s completely free of charge. In a
way, this is what TOTO did throughout their 30 years of
incredible career. They gave us so many strong emotions
through their records and live shows, they made us laugh and
sing along, write and dream. But we all know, sometimes
dreams can turn into reality…
Sometime ago, a group of people totally in
love with this Band, opened their eyes and hearts, trying to
find a possible way to give TOTO something special in return.
This is the very beginning of an ambitious
project called IV TOTO. The aim is to take every single fan
by the hand and make him a protagonist, the main actor in a
plot. The real purpose is giving TOTO a gift they have never
received before.
IV TOTO starts with the idea of making a song
that could involve the voice, the words, the notes and
presence of each TOTO fan.
The Team immediately started to work on music
calling in some fantastic TOTO fan musicians to play on the
track… and turn this dream into reality.
Once receiving more than 2000 fan e-mails
from all over the world and editing them into the official
lyrics of the song, the team concentrated all the efforts
into music production. Long hours spent working in the
recording studios contributed to blend those love feelings
together into one and only one voice: OUR VOICE.
But when the time comes for a dream to turn
into reality, it always hides something very special and
unforeseeable… Bobby Kimball, the great original singer from
TOTO took part to this project with such a precious and
unique contribution.
IV TOTO is a magic song designated to become
a rarity for many reasons: each one of us will love to hear
his own message between the lyrics lines, musicians will
appreciate the incredible quality of the music production
and collectors will have the chance to add a precious piece
to their TOTO museum… a record that represents the exact
borderline where fans and idols meet to do something never
seen before.
What truly impressed me was the atmosphere in
the air you could breathe during the making of all this:
pure love and contagious enthusiasm that shined in the eyes
of those dedicated guys! Inside a studio, during dinner,
they were always thinking about IV TOTO and how to make it
the best thing ever. When you get to work with that
mentality, the result is guaranteed with quality.
The Story is made by names too, and it’s my
duty to list the three people who started it all giving us
all such a precious chance: Giorgio, Domenico and Alex.
We’re all curious to know TOTO’s reaction
when they’ll get to hear this special message. The content
to translate isn’t complicated at all: “Thank you guys for
everything you gave us. We’re proud to be fans of the best
Band ever… TOTO”.
